- MasterWorks of New Mexico Spring Art Show in Albuquerque, a month-long event beginning March 30 and continuing throughout April at Expo New Mexico, the State Fairgrounds, Hispanic Arts Building; includes four juried art exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations and a "Paint-In" with still lifes and live models open to all aspiring or experienced painters.

READING ROOM YEARS AT THE BELEN HARVEY HOUSE: A showcase of the Santa Fe Railway collection, will be open from 12:30 pm. To 3:30 pm Tuesdays through Saturdays at the Harvey House Museum. Grab your sunhat and or galoshes and come on " down the hill" to see what else is going on. Especially come and see the wonderful renovation work at the newly re-opened Belen Art League Gallery. It is on the newly re-opened, historic Becker Street in downtown Belen, just south of Reinken and east of Main.
I also recommend AN EVENING OF ART AND CULTURE, part of the 24th annual Valley Cultural Festival at the VC Campus. Not only are there readings of original prize winning writings by local writers and students, this year there is a new twist to the artistic submissions with the category for Digital Art added! This event is part of the larger Valley Visions cultural event.

This multi-media, nontraditional version Shakespeare's The Tempest directed by Jessica Barkl involves actors, puppets, spirits and other creatures performing on cycloramas and ground cloths rigged to fly. Two live feed cameras and three projectors add an almost installation element.
